Cleveland Browns
Internship Briefing
In July of 2021 the Cleveland Browns selected me for a social media internship. My daily responsibilities included managing the official TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook channels. In addition to running these channels, I assisted the social media manager with producing content for the team’s Twitter and Instagram accounts. Other responsibilities included maintaining a monthly content calendar and reporting analytics to the marketing team weekly. Game day responsibilities included clipping in-game highlights, creating graphics for social media, editing images for Instagram, and applying captions on press conference clips.
TikTok
One of my favorite projects was working on the Browns TikTok Channel for the 2021 season. We had set a goal to reach 750k followers by the end of the year, we reached that mark by week 5 of the regular season. I created a monthly content calendar to effectively keep track of upcoming videos and how they performed once posted. One video outperformed the rest and currently holds 7.6 million views. Grant Delpit and Greedy Williams had an interesting conversation on the practice field, lucky Greedy was mic’d up that day.
Images for Social Giveaways
As Social Media Intern, I was assigned the task of creating images for giveaway posts and updating the giveaway items master list. These items were given to fans through social media contests.
Twitter and Instagram
Follower engagement on Browns’ Twitter was a top priority for the season. Myself and the Social Manager found that displaying sponsored content in this format increased the click-through rate on article posts.
One of the many projects I helped bring to life on the Browns Instagram was the ‘Player Quote Graphics’ series. Following a win or tough loss, I selected quotes from players on the team to be used in the graphic. The purpose of these posts was to convey the strength of the team and their commitment to one another.
